Nasarawa College of Education Expels 20 Students From College Over Exam Malpractice
The College Registrar says one of the expelled students over malpractice has dragged the school authority to court.
20 students of the Nassarawa State College of Education have reportedly been dismissed for engaging in examination malpractice.
The institution announced the students' expulsion in a statement released by the management and signed by the academic board of the institution.
According to the Registrar of the College, Audu Mangut, the 20 students were caught in cheating during examinations on different occasions.
Mangut, who said he would not ''speak further without clearance from the Provost'' revealed to Leadership Newspaper that one the affected students had dragged the College authority to court over his expulsion.
However, while 20 students were expelled at Nassarawa state College of Education over exam malpractice, new students at the Delta State College of Education have been cautioned against malpractices and vices.
The Provost of the College, Prof (Mrs) Mary Olire Edema, who spoke to the students during their matriculation ceremony on Saturday, March 3 advised them to shun vices and be diligent with their studies.
She said, “You must take charge of any circumstance you find yourselves in and use it to your full advantage because this institution is a citadel for learning”.
Prof Edema warned the fresh students against examination malpractices saying it could derail the achievement of their goals in life.
