UNIUYO Admits 10,926 Students for 2016/2017 Session

The total number of 10,926 students were offered admission into the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) for the 2016/2017 academic session. The matriculation ceremony of the institution was held on Saturday, 28th January, 2017.

While speaking at the matric, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Enefiok Essien urged the new students to shun cultism and all activities that ma y shorten their stay in the school.

He urged them to live within the dictates of the school’s rules and regulations, insinuating that the management board would not hesitate to wield the big stick against those who fails to conform.

The VC said, 

 “I encourage you to remain positively adventurous throughout your university experience. More importantly, from this moment on, you will shed most of your childish nuances and youthful exuberance and devote your time and energy to your studies.
“What this means is that you must have the right priorities, with your education at the very top. Remember that there will be no bell to ring, no parent to wake you up from bed or monitor your movement.
“What you need is to be disciplined enough to get prepared for your lectures and other positive social activities on time”, 

 he added.
